Monica DeLancy is known affectionately as the voice for Renters in the south Cobb Community. Austell  as a whole is 30-40 percent being renter occupied. Monica have been vocal about the cost of rent and its burdened on single income households, women with children and senior citizens. 

Monica have earned 15 awards in her 12 years residing in Austell, Georgia. In 2018 she was recognized as a NAACP MLK living the dream honoree, Keep Cobb Beautiful community improvement award and Cobb Collaborative volunteer of the year honoree. Monica is the founder and organizer of  We Thrive in Riverside Renters Association which provides resources, and workshops to empower renters to be leaders. She is employed with Cobb County School District as a parent resource specialist.  She is a graduate of Dillard University with a degree in biology. Monica’s journey for the past 12 years raising 2 children Brianne  (20)  and  Ernest (18) overcoming challenges of single parenthood, advocating for renters, families and home owners is a testimony that have many chapters and has prepared her to lead the emerging majority. She resides in the Riverside Community located in Austell, Georgia.  She is a lifelong member of St. Timothy's Episcopal Church and worships at local churches.
